With just under 550 students, Cedar Hill Middle School is proud to open its doors as a vibrant, inclusive and supportive learning community for students in grades 6, 7 and 8. As a dual-track school offering both French and English programs and part of the Reynolds Family of Schools, we are committed to a student-centered approach that nurtures curiosity, creativity and growth.

Our new school has been thoughtfully designed to support learning in community. Bright, flexible classrooms, collaborative spaces and quiet areas for small group and individual work create an environment where every student can thrive. We celebrate a wide range of interests, with rich opportunities in the arts, ADST, athletics and a variety of engaging clubs.

At Cedar Hill, students are known, supported and inspired. Our middle school advisory team structure ensures that each learner is part of a smaller, caring community while still benefiting from the supports of the larger school setting. Following the Greater Victoria School District’s Exemplary Middle School Model, all students enjoy exploratory classes each year, including Visual Art, Drama, Shop, and Home Economics (Textiles and Foods).

We are deeply connected to our community, with strong partnerships that enrich student learning from the local recreation centre and senior living community to the police and fire departments, the University of Victoria and community organizations.

Cedar Hill’s story is one of proud tradition and exciting renewal. The original school building, established in 1931, served generations of students under different names  and levels for over 90 years. Now, in 2025, we celebrate the opening of our newly designed and built Cedar Hill Middle School, a space shaped by student voice and community vision.

Our new facility features innovative learning environments, including collaborative breakout spaces, a welcoming student commons, an Indigenous Welcome Room and a stunning two-storey Library Learning Commons at the heart of the school. Natural light, warm flowing colours and comfortable gathering spaces reflect the ideas and input of our students, creating a place where everyone feels they belong.
